Sunday “Fun Day”

After settling in and getting to know one another, we dove right into two unforgettable experiences: our “Sunday-Fun-Day” and our Trip to Kamakura.

Our Sunday started with a choose-your-own-adventure style day— and what a day it was! Students had the chance to explore real Japan in small groups accompanied by our instructors. Everyone found something unique to enjoy.

Sushi Skills and Serenity

With Sky and Anouk, a lucky group headed to Shinjuku for a sushi-making workshop. From nigiri to hand-rolls, they had a hands-on introduction to one of Japan’s most iconic cuisines. Everyone left with a full belly — and a happy memory to share with all their dear friends and family.

In the afternoon, they explored local spots full of Japanese charm and fascinating vibes. They also had a peaceful moment while experiencing the serenity of a traditional tea ceremony. It was a truly special session, guided by a wise Japanese woman who explained each detail of the millennia-old art of Sadō, the Japanese tea ceremony.

Our students felt deeply connected to the harmonious experience and learned about a beautiful concept that defines it perfectly:

一期一会⇒Ichigo Ichie

which means:

“One time, one meeting” – a once-in-a-lifetime moment that will never happen again in exactly the same way.”

It reminded us all to be fully present and treasure the moment we shared.

Traditional Japanese Castle  &  Baseball game = Perfect Pairing

Another amazing group of students went on a truly well-rounded adventure that blended culture, history, and sports.

In the morning, they explored a traditional Japanese castle, a stunning structure surrounded by lush scenery and layers of history. Students walked through an ancient place and imagined what life might have been like centuries ago.

In the afternoon, the group switched gears and experienced the energy of a Japanese baseball game. From rhythmic cheer songs to colorful fans waving towels and clapping in unison, it was more than just a sporting event — it was a cultural celebration.  By sunset, students had seen two very different sides of Japan — ancient tradition and modern passion — all in one memorable day.

A Seaside Escape to Atami

Another adventurous group joined a cool adventure going in Shinkansen to Atami, a charming coastal town famous for its hot springs, scenic coastline, and historic charm.

Their first stop was a beautiful viewpoint, perched dramatically on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A stunning panoramic view that instantly catches everyone’s attention, students enjoyed breathtaking views of the sea, the town below, and the surrounding mountains — a true postcard moment.

Unleashing Creativity: Pokémon, Food Art & VR Action

Sabrina, Brian and Kelly led the group to Solamachi, right next to the famous Tokyo Skytree, for a visit to the Pokémon Center — a paradise for fans! After some time shopping and enjoying café breaks, the group got creative in a Food Sample Making Workshop in Asakusa, where they crafted their own plastic Sweet crepe, Omelette and Pasta. It was a fun hands-on experience. Once the group had finished, they visited Asakusa, and were able to enter a famous and ancient Buddist temple.

The excitement didn’t stop there. Later, everyone jumped into an energetic HADO VR sports match — imagine dodgeball combined with holograms! The group ended breathless and laughing, making unforgettable memories together.

Crafted it for fun, ate it for real!

Stay tuned for more updates soon with our day trip to the beach town of Kamakura! as we continue exploring, learning, and laughing together!
