Jet lag is real, but slowly we are getting on Tokyo time and exploring what this city has to offer. So let’s begin with the airport pickup. Most of our students landed in Tokyo very early on Tuesday morning and we had 2 private buses bring them to our residence (Kamikita House). We gave everyone 5 hours to unpack, shower, and (optionally) sleep OR take walks around our neighborhood.
Then Tuesday afternoon was spent explaining how the program works–how to use the trains in Tokyo, what’s our daily schedule, etiquette in Japan, some Japanese survival phrases, and how we need to drink lots of water and get as much sleep as possible.

Then we had dinner in small groups in our neighborhood and early to bed.
Today at 9am each student had their first day of class.

Tonight we went out for dinner again in small groups but to new neighborhoods.
We are excited about this group of students and are really looking forward to the next 3 weeks together. The whole group photo is coming soon!!
