June 30 – July 15: Tokyo, Japan

Stay in a residential hotel located in the trendy Shinjuku district, a short walk or train ride from many of Tokyo’s most famous sites including the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, the Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya Crossing. During the day, students explore Tokyo’s many distinct neighborhoods with their seminar groups, working in teams with the guidance of their Pre-College instructors. In the evenings, sample Tokyo’s exceptional restaurants, take in the illuminated view from one of Tokyo’s sky-high observatories, or join your fellow participants for a night of karaoke.

July 16 – 18: Kyoto, Japan

Take a final excursion at the end of your program to Kyoto, the former imperial capital of Japan. With its many Buddhist temples and shrines, pristine gardens, and traditional wooden houses, Kyoto offers a stark contrast to the ultra-modern energy of Tokyo. Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony, learn about geisha culture in the Gion district, and hike along bamboo-covered paths.
